Matt steers ‘him-Selfe’ to double success
Matt Selfe achieved the double in the speed shear competition at Nyngan Show, winning both the local and senior divisions.

Matt and his wife Zoe have their own contracting business, MZ Shearing based in and around Warren. It is not the first time the 33-year-old has taken out this double – also achieving it 2023, just after launching MZ Shearing.
The Nyngan Show speed shear competition always draws a large crowd, and also competitors from across NSW.
This year there was $5000 in prizemoney across the board, with $200 for the winner of the opens. This hotly contested open final was won by Warwick McMaster.
He was also awarded a perpetual trophy in honour of former Nyngan Show president, the late Chris Elder.
Mr Elder and Nyngan contractor Dennis and Janet Thorpe were responsible for including the shearing competition in the Nyngan Show program. Chris’s wife Jill Elder presented the trophy.
