Nyngan contest Pennants State Finals
Thirteen Nyngan bowlers travelled to the Mid-North Coast on the weekend to contest the Grade Seven Open Pennant State Finals hosted by the North Haven and Lake Cathie Bowling Clubs.

There were three teams of four and one reserve from Nyngan.
The NSW State Pennant competition is the oldest event on the NSW calendar. They were first played in 1895 and are now widely regarded as the ultimate club sides championship for players in every grade.
The NSW State Grade Seven Pennant competition is contested by the champion side from each of the state’s 16 regions.
Representing Nyngan (Mid-West region champions) were:
Team one: Jimmy Cobcroft, Greg Wright, Logan Parry, and Alex Miles. Team two: Joe Smith, Helen Beetson, Kevin Miles, and John Wynne. Team three: Kayne Taylor, Ron Smith, Adrian Taylor, and Rex Vane.
Tony Britton was the reserve for the weekend.
Nyngan started the weekend well defeating Avoca Beach in the first round, and Gloucester in the second round but narrowly lost to Cardiff in the final round. In round one of the sudden death finals, Nyngan was defeated 64-58 by Manilla, which went on to be overall runners-up to Port City.
